  1. There’s some great research hints in this edition John, in particular the Maritime articles and URLs. Not only are the Lloyd’s Register of Shipping Books a great resource (once you figure out how to read them) but Lloyd’s also published a magazine for many years, named Lloyd’s List (https://www.maritimearchives.co.uk/lloyds-list.html). This was the only place I could find what happened to one ship which was taken by the French in 1807 during the Napolionic Wars.
