  1. Interesting John. I noted the book on Ukranian settlement in the west.
    While they protested, I proved to their satisfaction that my step daughter’s family in Saskatchewan were descendants of German speaking Ukranian settlers there a few generations back. I was even able to buy books by a South Dakota German speaking Ukranian FH society which showed pictures of one of those original familes of settlers, and it included a portait of the brother of an ancestor who strongly ressembled the living family’s great grandfather.

    Oddly enough, the partner of my darling honourary granddaughter Samantha also came from the same settlement pattern. Cheers, BT
