Oh so sad. I knew he had cancer, and hoped this would not happen. He will be missed. BT
I am so sad to hear this. He was taken too soon. My deepest condolences.
Very sad indeed. Tim has left us with an incredible shelf of books on the Canada’s military history, especially on both world wars. With Tim, there was always the promise of more (he has been working on a book on veterans), but we are fortunate to have the results of his dogged research and superb writing to guide us when researching Canada’s military history in the twentieth century. RIP Tim.
Thank you John for letting us know. Tim was a wonderful person, always had time for your wartime questions – he helped me understand so much better what my grandfather had gone through in WWI. He will be greatly missed.
A sad day for Canafian history enthusiasts.
A huge loss indeed…we have many of his books on the shelves of our library – I generally refrain from weeding them, even when they’re on the list because they’re so important to understanding Canada’s military history.
Condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
