The area covered is the modern archdeaconries of Richmond, Craven and Cleveland.

The following English newspapers are newly added to newspapers.com.

These English newspapers with over 100,000 pages available received recent updates.

In addition the North Wales Weekly News from Colwyn Bay is updated to 115,122 pages from 1905 – 1999.

UPDATE: The strange numerical title to this post occurred as I omitted to choose one myself.

Norfolk Wills & Probate
This new collection comprises over 257,000 index records and spans 1301-1858. In them, you’ll find information such as name, year, residence, and title – which will often include their occupation and birthplace. There’s usually a link to the catalogue of  the Norfolk Record Office where the original is held.

From the Archdeaconry of Norfolk, these records cover 14 Deaneries: Blofield, Breccles, Brisley, Flegg (including Greater Yarmouth), Holt, Ingworth, Lynn (including King’s Lynn), Lynn Marshland, Norwich, Sparham, Taverham, Thetford, Toftrees, and Walsingham.

Norfolk Banns and Marriages
Over 65,000 records from 361 parishes are added to this collection as early as 1702. Each transcript has an attached image. For post 1 July 1837 marriages, it is the local copy of the marriage certificate.

Findmypast’s Norfolk Parish List has information on the years for which baptism, banns, marriage and burial records by parishes

Also anticipated are updates to Newspapers.com Marriages for Canada, Australia,  the UK, and the USA.

New to FamilySearch, Catholic church parish registers for 1,370,572 baptism, marriage, and death entries that took place in Ireland and Northern Ireland from 1740-1900. The collection also contains a few confirmations, dispensations, and funeral records. 

Transcript records may include: name, parents, spouse, father’s occupation, residence, date of birth, date of marriage, burial date, and much more, depending on the record type. There are no linked images.

The original records are at the National Library of Ireland.

It was a diversion to find a few records for the name Marmon. According to the 1911 census for Wales my G-Grandfather John was born in Kilkeel, Co Down ca 1837, and although neither he nor his father Peter are found in this collection, there are Marmon records for “Kilcoo, Kilkeel, County Down, Ireland.”

Kilcoo and Kilkeel are adjacent civil parishes. Did one Catholic church serve both? Some of those Marmon records mention addresses Moyad, and Tutlaree. The first is a Townland in the Civil Parish of Kilcoo, and the Poor Law Uninion of Kilkeel, the second is a mystery. There are also entries for the Marmion varlant.
