Images of microfilmed copies of handwritten Roman Catholic parish registers that date before 1910 are now available. The collection is for the Archdiocese of Toronto: the City of Toronto; the regional municipalities of Peel, York and Durham; and Simcoe County. The burial registers for St. Paul’s Basilica, as well as St. Michael’s cemetery up to 1910 are also included. While they’re not name indexed you’ll likely find the Ontario registration on Ancestry, or free at FamilySearch where there’s also a broader range of browseable Ontario Roman Catholic Church Records.
Fantastic addition – I’ve already put a link onto my library website’s genealogy page.
Would you know if the Hamilton Catholic Church records would be accessible soon? I have been told they are the only records not microfilmed.
