Jenny Ashcraft’s article on the Fishwrap blog explains the ten-step process Ancestry uses in bringing us the 1.2 billion newspaper pages on newspapers.com.
Step 2, Customer Requests, states they’re welcome. But the website has no obvious way to send them! Several people have posted requests as comments to the article.
Don’t expect instant gratification. Contract negotiations may mean substantial delay. Content may be unavailable owing to copyright issues.

It’s been a while since I did a newspaper request, so I don’t remember exactly how I did that, but Newspapers.com has been very responsive to that request, sending me regular updates to inform me about how many issues had been uploaded to the site for that particular title (Newsday, a U.S. paper serving Long Island, part of the NYC metro area). I also know there is a “search alert” section, which might be a place to put in a newspaper request.
I could request all I like, but can’t afford to add the sub, so it would be moot.
