Ancestry adds Berkshire and Suffolk Records

Records for two English counties were added to Ancestry on 10 September.

There’s a single title, Suffolk, England, Bishops’ Transcripts, 1560-1853 with 4,365,339 records, and four sets of Church of England parish records for Berkshire with almost as many records in total.

The Suffolk BT records had links to images of the original. I don’t recall finding dates for both private and public baptisms for the same child as I did for my ancestors in Barrow.

For Berkshire there is a single title, Berkshire, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, 1538-1812 for the early period, and separate titles for Baptisms, 1813-1925, Marriages and Banns, 1813-1941, and Burials, 1813-1998. Again, all have original image links.

  1. Excellent news about Berkshire . My wife’s 3 x great grandfather travelled from Leicestershire to Reading & Pangborne to be a navi on the new rail line . He married a l local lass and had a family in the area before retiring to Battersea. Great to see the original images of the family links in the area.
Thanks as usual for the heads up
